National Retailer Dollar Tree Opening 2025 in Pecos

Jemco Holdings, Inc. has acquired approximately one acre of land on a pad anchored by United Supermarkets for the construction of Dollar Tree's first location in Pecos, Texas. Grand opening is expected in the third quarter of 2025. Scott Rose of Rose Commercial Partners represented Jemco Holdings in conjunction with Mr. Jimmy Dutchover, Pecos Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Director.

Bill Randal Cole of KIUN first reached out to Jimmy to inquire as to the activity around the West Lincoln Street intersection.  Jimmy responded by informing Bill the 2.67 acres of land had been purchased by an investor with the intention of building a chain retail store on approximately one-half of the land and the other half would be for future development.

Asked whether there was other information Jimmy could provide the listeners of KIUN/KTPX regarding future development coming to Pecos, Jimmy stated, “If only 20% the investors being recruited by the PEDC commit to our community, it will be a game changer and redefine Pecos as not only a place to work, but to shop, eat, spend the night, and possibly make it the home of so many of our transit workers.”

Jimmy ended his thoughts by saying, “The growth and interest from outside investors has been somewhat of a challenge but is being overcome by momentum, which appears to be favorable to our community.  Credit goes out to the participation and guidance of the Directors of the PEDC, the City Council and its management, and the Reeves County’s Commissioners Court.  Everyone has been very helpful.  Now, the PEDC is on to the next project, with an emphasis on:

Promoting our Region /County/ Community /Medical-Emergency Services /Schools /Economic Development. Planning and Building Today for Our Tomorrow.”

David Dominguez - President of the PEDC, the Board of Directors, and Mr. Dutchover began working on the Dollar Tree project approximately 12 months ago.  Mr. Dominguez stated, “Part of Jimmy’s challenge has been getting national chains to believe in the sales numbers of our community, but his efforts appear to be gaining traction from chain stores and restaurants already located in the Midland-Odessa market, who he has been recruiting to make a future presence in Pecos.  As we continue to market land owned by Reeves County, the Town of Pecos City, and PEDC, our community residents could soon begin seeing the fruits of our hard labor.”
